1000 rounds of 7.62 needed to be fired. We had to finish off the 7.62 and shoot the 50 Cal and shotgun in an hour or so as we had to start our 4 hour drive back to the airport. With only 6 of the 11 ladies left we had our work [wpvideo XuGlXpW3] cut out for us. I think we only made it through half of the ammo. Barb’s great pink AK and the RPK were getting so
hot we could not hold on to them anymore. What better way to end the shooting than Gracie showing her rebel stance with the matching pink AK to her pink outfit? Barb and Jason had the 3 big guns for us today. We had the pink AK, the RPK and the Serbu 50 Cal. I think only a couple of us were able to keep the 50 Cal on the bench. This was my first time shooting one of these. And as you can see from my reaction in video above, I was stunned. I took only two shots and called it quits. That rattled my brain for the rest of the day. It was pretty awesome though. Jason worked the trap machine for us to finish out the shells. It had two throwers and we each got a work out.
Sadly the house was emptying out. The front room stack o’ rifle cases was dwindling down to just two. Ladies were driving off the ranch. The last four of us, Shelley, Gracie, Natalie and myself piled up the rental once last time. We made our way back to 5 Guys and picked up Gracie’s phone. Thanks 5 Guys for keeping it safe. They even turned off the power so it would not run out of batteries. As soon as I sat in my seat on the plane I fell asleep. I don’t think I had packed that much stuff in 4 days ever. Well perhaps MGM Ironman could be the busiest 4 days I’ve had. My week ahead was not getting any less busy I thought. Might as well enjoy the nap on the plane while I had the chance.
Although this is technically my last post in this series
I will be adding updates. Don’t forget the Pillow Fight! One of our goals was to create a sort of code of ethics for the gun blogging community and an organization to belong to (no fees) and have the “seal of approval” in your blog. Sort of like a BBB for the gun blogging industry. We also would like to allow other women gun bloggers that were not part of the weekend trip be part of future organized twitter chats. Our weekend just happened to come about at the last minute and in no way were we intending to exclude others. There are so many fabulous women in this industry. The ranch house can only fit so many!
Thank you ladies for such a fun weekend. Thank you to Smith & Wesson for guns and food. Thanks to Beretta USA for many guns to play with. Thank you Ammunition Depot for all of the ammunition to keep us busy. Thank you 2nd Amendment Coffee for waking me up each morning. And of course the biggest thank you goes to Barb and Jason/Dr Bomb Baird and Missouri U of Tech and Science for hosting and educating us.
