I am not sure what came over me yesterday but I out-did myself. Not only did I win the match but my first string of 20 came out with 19X. 19!! John VS was pulling my target for me and tore the face off and gave it with one of my splattered spotting disks to me afterwards. Yes the conditions were calm in the morning but to hold 19X on a condensed target is pretty fun.
Second string was a nice 17X and the last string the winds kicked up and knocked me down to 13X. (Scores in photo at right) But I am not complaining! Final score was 600/600 with 48X. For me this was a record. My confidence level has soared since coming back from Sacramento with the 3rd place.
I have to give a big kudos to Nosler also. Nosler is the brand of bullet I use often. With Sierra and Berger being handed out everywhere to the US Teams and Junior Teams, no one ever mentions them. In fact some shooters just don’t consider them. Gary Rasmessan also shoots with Nosler and has great performance. I have been using all 3 brands the last year because I keep winning them at matches. I have put them head to head in practice sessions with a string of 20 each. All even.
I am looking forward to shooting but not shooting AT Rattlesnake in May for the State Palma Championship. Then I am off to Lodi, WI for a 7 day match. July has BC Championships and an Intl down in Portland. Then off to Camp Perry for a shot at the Palma National Championship in August. Hey, why not? I feel I am just starting to role.
