I went in tho the US Custom’s Office today to register my rifle for Canada. 6ft gal with 4″ heels and dress drives up in Orange Daytona Charger RT. (Looked pretty much like Shoot Like A Girl avatar at right) Pulls out huge rifle case and walks in to office. Officer opens case and looks like he is looking for a serial number. – “Rifle is custom. No serial numbers.” (**See Notes below) “No serial numbers?” “No, no serial numbers”. “Why not? I thought all guns had serial numbers” “No sir, they don’t.” What is this gun called?” “It is just a custom bolt action, no official name.” He sees the Palma emblem on side. “Well, we will call it a Palma rifle.” “OK.” “You a competitor or something?” “Yes sir.” “Isn’t there a scope with this?” “No sir, just iron sights.” “Just iron sights?” “Yes sir”. “How far do you shoot?” “500 to 1000 yards.” …..Silence…… Other people staring…. Stamp one paper, stamp another copy. “OK, well, good luck up there.” “Thank you.”
Walk out to my car with rifle over my shoulder and there is a group of Custom’s officers checking out the Charger. Kozmo sees me coming then feels the need to be protective of car. Goes all Cujo on them. They step back and see me with rifle coming towards car. More silence. I smile and apologize for psycho dog, put rifle in trunk and drive off. Have they not seen chicks with guns before? Tee-hee.
“Shoot Like A Girl! If You Can……..”
**Yes, I know now that all guns have numbers on them somewhere. Mine just happened to be hiding under rear site plate. Found it later. Oops! But he still let me go!
